Travis M. Smith is a member of the State Bar of Texas, providing counsel and representation in a variety of legal areas. He most commonly practices criminal law, litigates civil cases, develops estate plans, and assists in real estate transactions. Travis also has a background in business formation and startup, consumer law, debt collection, family law, guardianship law, mediation, and property tax law.
Travis' educational background is also quite diverse. He earned his law degree at The University of Texas School of Law, where he was Associate Editor of the Texas Journal of Business Law, Member and Web Site Editor of the Texas Review of Entertainment and Sports Law, and member of the exclusive legal honor society, Phi Delta Phi. Prior to entering law school, Travis graduated from The University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business , with honors, as a Management Information Systems major and took international finance and marketing courses at ESADE in Barcelona, Spain.
Before opening The Smith Firm, Travis held a number of business and legal positions. Most recently, Travis practiced at Philips & Philips, L.L.P. in Austin, Texas. During law school Travis clerked at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP in Washington, DC and Joel B. Bennett, P.C. in Austin, Texas. Travis has also held internships at a number of corporations, including IBM, Tivoli Systems, and Minyard Food Stores.
